What airport do I fly into?

Make arrangements to fly into the RDU Airport (Raleigh-Durham).  Please arrange flight times with Program Associate, R. Erin Ridings, erin_ridings@unc.edu.

Can I bring my spouse or children? Do they have to pay?

Children and spouses are not allowed.

Will SEPHLI cover the costs?

Year 9 Scholars: December 11-12, 2006

Year 10 scholars: December 11-14, 2006

If you would like to arrive early or stay late, please book your reservations through R. Erin Ridings, Program Associate, 919-966-0341, for the group rate.

Will food and beverage be covered by SEPHLI?

Year 9 Scholars: Food and beverage will be provided continuously from Monday afternoon until Tuesday lunch.

Year 10: Food and beverage will be provided continuously from Monday afternoon until Thursday lunch, where you will be sent off with delicious boxed lunches provided by the Rizzo Center for the road.

What if my flight is delayed or cancelled? What if I can’t make it to the retreat?

SEPHLI expects a strong commitment from all Scholars.  Please contact Lisa Harrison, Program Director, if you cannot attend the December Retreat, 919-843-5559.

If your flight is cancelled, or delayed, please alert SEPHLI staff as soon as possible.

I live locally; can I commute to the on site program?

It is a requirement that all SEPHLI scholars, even those within commuting distance, stay on site with the cohort to avoid tardiness of any kind and build a more cohesive group.

Are personal charges, business services, etc. to the room paid for?

No. All incidentals will be covered by the scholars.  Internet access is complimentary.

Is parking paid for?

Parking is complimentary.

Are vegetarian options available?

Vegetarian options are available. Contact R. Erin Ridings, Program Associate (T:966-0341, erin_ridings@unc.edu), by March 31, 2006.

What are the guidelines for the leadership project posters?

Scholar leadership project posters should be a visual depiction of your project including, but not limited to the Intro, Purpose, Methods, and Conclusion sections with comments highlighting your leadership experiences - similar to an academic poster at a national conference. Tri-fold posters are preferable.
