Scholars Reunite to Further Develop Leadership Skills at May Retreat 2008

April 30, 2008 – Thirty-one high potential public health professionals from the Southeast and South Central United States reunited at the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee to participate in the Southeast Public Health Leadership Institute (SEPHLI) mid-curriculum spring retreat.  This group of outstanding individuals, referred to as scholars, participate on a scholarship provided by their state health department.

The purpose of this three day retreat is to provide access to nationally renowned public health experts, increase opportunities for networking, and further build upon leadership skills learned at the previous December retreat in addition to a focus on organizational development. 

Topics during the spring retreat include:

  • MBTI / FIRO-B Self-Assessments
  • Negotiation & Conflict Resolution
  • Team-Building
  • Visioning & Futuring

SEPHLI is very proud to welcome Norm Hartman, Founder and CEO, of TMT Worldwide, Inc. and Mike Rosenthal, Executive Consultant for Discovery Learning, Inc. as new program faculty.
