2007-2008 Award Winning Leadership Projects

Best Overall Scholar

Each year, SEPHLI recognizes an outstanding scholar who distinguishes themselves from the rest of the class by showing achievement in all aspects of the leadership development institute, including an outstanding leadership project.  This year, the Best All-Around SEPHLI Scholar Award was given to Sherrie Montgomery, Public Health County Director for Hamblen, Grainger & Jefferson County Health Departments, Tennessee.  Sherrie’s final project was entitled, "WOW WIC."  Read this project abstract. Change Agents Team MembersChange Agents, SEPHLI Best Team Award, 2008 The SEPHLI Team-Work Award went to the CHANGE AGENTS. Team members are Carrie Brainard (WV); Julie Casani, MD, MPH (NC); Barbara Hager, MPH (AR); David Law, PhD (TN); & Suzette McClellan, MPH (SC). The Change Agents set the bar for teamwork this year with outstanding team organization, mentorship, commitment, and not to mention the Change Agents ability to be extremely flexible! This exemplary group of scholars proved the positive impact of an effective team.
