Meet the 2011 Scholars

Monica T. Brown, MPH
North Carolina

Monica T. Brown works at Downtown Health Plaza of Baptist Hospital as the Manager of Outpatient Departments. She has served in this capacity for the past three years. Prior to her employment with the Medical Center, she worked for Forsyth County Department of Public Health in the HIV/STD Health Education Section for nine years.

She received her BA in Biology and Masters in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Monica is a results oriented professional that has a strong interest in community health. She has served on several community committees/boards including, but not limited to, Triad Baby Love Plus Board, North Carolina AIDS Care Unit Advisory Committee, and Northwest Care Consortium Board.

To date, her greatest contribution to Forsyth County has been providing HIV/STD Health Education and testing services to a portion of our community that is often overlooked and forgotten. These services were provided to the community, in the community
