Dr. Carl Williams is the State Public Health Veterinarian for the North Carolina Division of Public Health. Dr. Williams came to the NC DPH in 2004 as a Public Health Veterinarian. He received his veterinary degree from NCSU in 1997 and his bachelor’s degree from UNC-Charlotte in 1991. Prior to working for the state of NC Dr. Williams worked as a small animal practitioner in Carrboro NC, served as a Public Health Officer in the United States Air Force, and worked as the Vectorborne disease epidemiologist for the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services. Dr. Williams is licensed to practice veterinary medicine in North Carolina and Wisconsin and is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine.
