Andy Smith’s public health career began in 1995 as a Registered Environmental Health Specialist after graduating from East Carolina University with a Bachelors of Science in Environmental Heath with a concentration in Public Health. In 2006, Andy was promoted to Environmental Health Supervisor at the Warren County Health Department. Shortly after receiving his Masters in Public Administration with a concentration in Government in December 2008 from Wayland Baptist University, Andy was named Health Director for Warren County where he currently manage a staff of fifty dedicated public health professionals that include Clinical & Home Health Nurses, Environmental Health Specialist, Nutritionists and Social Workers. Andy was recently accepted into a Public Administration Doctorate program at Northcentral University.

Andy and his wife, Wendy, were married in May 2008 at which time he gained a 13-year old son, Dylan. In his spare time, he enjoys fishing, traveling, and spending time with his family.
