Sherrie Montgomery

As a Registered Dietitian, Sherrie Montgomery came to Public Health via nutrition and dietetics, having worked in county health departments as a Nutrition Educator and Nutritionist II for approximately 15 years. In 2000, she switched to the education field as the School Nutrition Supervisor for Hamblen County Schools. Sherrie returned to the Department of Health in 2006 as the County Director for the Hamblen, Grainger, and Jefferson County Health Departments in East Tennessee. She has a MS degree in Nutrition/Dietetics from Western Carolina University, and BS degree from Lipscomb University. Sherrie holds membership in the Tennessee Public Health Association, the American, Tennessee and Knox District Dietetic Associations, and Phi Kappa Phi. On the local level, she is on the Board of Directors for Hamblen County Habitat for Humanity, serves in the Rose Center Service Guild, and is a member of the Hamblen Coordinated School Health Council.
Personal: Sherrie is married to Tom Montgomery, and has three grown children: Neal, Nan, and Adam. Hobbies include yoga, playing piano, quilting and knitting.
