Meet the 2008 Scholars

Connie A. Mims, MBA/MHA
Director, Business & WIC Division
Mecklenburg County Health Department
North Carolina

Connie Mims is the Business and WIC Director for the Mecklenburg County Health Department, directing Patient Accounting, Patient Registration, Medical Records and WIC.  Between working at Metro General Hospital in Cleveland, OH and Mecklenburg County Health Department (MCHD) in Charlotte, NC, she has over 17 years experience in community service.

Connie has worked in the private sector with Kaiser Permanente in Charlotte, NC, on their administrative team for 10 years and provided consulting for the Charlotte market exit in 1998.  She began with MCHD as the Business Director and has recently added the WIC program to her overall divisional responsibilities.  In addition to the program responsibilities, Connie provides HIPAA Privacy leadership and is the co-chair responsible for the county customer service initiative for the Health Department.

Connie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Gardner Webb University in Boiling Springs, NC and she is a recent graduate of Pfeiffer University MBA and MHA program.
