Susan James, RN

Susan James is employed by the Arkansas Department of Health as the Administrative Manager for the Southwest Region for the Center for Local Public Health and works out of the Montgomery County Health Unit in Mt. Ida. She is a graduate of Mt. Ida High School, Mt. Ida, Arkansas and National Park Community College in Hot Springs Arkansas, with her Associate Degree in Nursing; Certificate of Public Health Leadership though the University of Alabama; Certificate for South Central Public Health Leadership Institute, Tulane University Medical Center; and a Certificate for Public Health Science and Management Leadership Institute, UAMS Fay Boozman College of Public Health.
Susan has worked for the Department of Health for over fifteen years and has worked in several different areas during her tenure. In her present job she serves on the regional management team for the seventeen counties in the SW Region and is responsible for the regional budgets and personnel management.
Susan lives in Sims, Arkansas on the 180-acre family farms, with lots of farm animals and other creatures. She loves to spend time with her family, most especially her two beautiful grandsons. Some of her other interests include shopping, traveling, and riding her 4-wheeler around the farm and trails.
