Andre Fresco is a Public Health County Director for the Tennessee Department of Health. He is responsible for a multi-site clinic system with over 80 staff in Rutherford County, one of Tennessee’s largest communities. He has been responsible for implementing new primary care initiatives and spearheading the renovation and expansion of a satellite health clinic. Mr. Fresco is a member of the Rutherford County Wellness Council, Tennessee Homeland Security District Six Council, City of Murfreesboro Homeless Task Force and the Tennessee Public Health Association.
Prior to joining the state, Mr. Fresco directed a public-private partnership that provided advisory and grant services to rural governments in Tennessee and founded a nonprofit to deliver medical vehicles to impoverished communities. He has also worked for the federal government where he developed and implemented health programs both domestically and in the former Soviet Union.
Mr. Fresco holds a Bachelors Degree in Philosophy from Grinnell College as well as a Masters Degree in Public Administration with a concentration in Health Care from Drake University. Upon completion of his masters program, he received a fellowship with the federal government as a Presidential Management Intern.
