Valencia Brewington is the Regional Director of Community Development in Region 4. In this role, she is responsible for developing, nurturing, and maintaining community development activities, in conjunction with the local units, to reach the needs of the community and develop the ongoing relationship that will allow for improved health in that community. She has worked for the Department of Health and Environmental Control for 24 years. For sixteen (16) years, she directed implementation of a $6 million Special Supplemental Food Program (the WIC Program) including programmatic supervision of personnel and interpretation and implementation of policies and procedures.
Valencia holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Coker College in Hartsville, SC and a Master of Arts degree from Webster University, Myrtle Beach, SC in Counseling. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor.
She is involved in a wide variety of activities on the local and state level. Valencia is a community activist.
