Mike’s education and work experiences bridge the gap between the world of business and the consulting arena. After completing an M.B.A. he worked for a number of years in a major New York financial organization before starting his own mail order/distribution business that he continues to lead today. A shift in career interests led Mike in another direction and resulted in a graduate degree in counseling, a faculty position at High Point University and association as an adjunct feedback coach with the Center for Creative in Leadership in Greensboro, NC. Mike has been an associate of Discovery Learning, Inc. for ten years.
His experience and understanding of business issues and practices, coupled with his counseling and teaching background, places Mike in a unique position to understand client needs and effectively deliver the desired message. He specializes in team building, delivery of 360-degree feedback and helping organizations transition through significant change. He is particularly skilled in using exercises, simulations and interactive processes to achieve the desired results. Having fun plays a big part in his consulting philosophy.
Mike is trained and/or certified on a wide array of instruments and simulations including Benchmarks, Paper Planes, Inc., PressTime, FIRO-B, Change Style Indicator, SKILLSCOPES, Denison Organizational Culture Survey, California Psychological Inventory, MBTI and many others. He also facilitates PressTime and outdoor team building exercises for the Center for Creative Leadership.
Mike earned a B.S. in Economics from Union College, a Master’s in Business Administration from the State University of NY at Albany, and a M.Ed. in Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
