Professional Activities
Dr. Porter has over 20 years experience as a hospital administrator
in Chicago, Ohio and Texas. She served as Interim President
and CEO of the Association of University Programs (AUPHA)
prior to coming to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute she was
at the University of North Carolina. In 1998 she started
as Associate Dean for Executive Education for the School
of Public Health. During her tenure at UNC, over $13 million
in executive education programs have been offered. Dr. Porter
served as the PI for the Management Academy for Public Health,
the Public Health Leadership Institute, the Southeast Public
Health Training Center, and the Feasibility Study for Patient
Safety Improvement Corps. She also directs the Certificate
in Public Health Concepts. Dr. Porter is a commissioner with
the Accrediting Commission for Education in Health Services
Administration and a board member of the National Center
for Healthcare Leadership, and a member of the Council on
Linkages.
