Lisa Macon Harrison has worked in research and practice
for ten years at UNC managing projects in Public Health Preparedness,
Workforce Development and Health Promotion and Disease Prevention
through the Departments of Epidemiology, Nutrition, and Medicine
and the North Carolina Institute for Public Health. Ms. Harrison's
areas of expertise and leadership include:
- Assessing the competency of the public health
workforce in core public health skills and emergency
preparedness,
- Facilitating public health training and education
in: Preparedness, Public Health Core Competencies, Epidemiology,
Surveillance, Outbreak Investigation, and additional
topics to ensure the workforce can respond to emerging
health threats,
- Developing, disseminating, and evaluating training
products according to assessed and specified need
- Conducting distance learning research and lifelong
learning program development
Ms. Harrison received a Bachelor of Science in Public Health
from UNC School of Public Health with a double major in Public
Policy Analysis. She is currently completing her Masters
in Public Health through the Public Health Leadership Program
at UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health.
