Colonel Dave Crafton is the Chief, Customer Service Division for
the Office of the Manager, National Communications System, located
in Arlington, Virginia. He assumed the position on June 20, 2001.
Prior to his National Communications System assignment, Colonel
Crafton was a Staff Analyst for C3 Directorate, Assistant Secretary
of Defense, Command, Control, Communications, and Intelligence.
He performed OSD oversight and functional management of selected
USAF and Joint programs, and the National Airspace System (NAS).
Colonel Crafton was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on January 6, 1955. He
graduated from Pinole Valley High School in 1973. A graduate of
the Air Force Academy, Colonel Crafton received a Bachelor of Science
Degree in History in 1977 and a Masters Degree in Systems Management
from the University of Southern California in 1983. He completed
Squadron Officer School in 1984, Air Command and Staff College in
1987, and Air War College, in-residence in 1997.
