Eligibility Criteria for Scholarships

This year's Southeast Public Health Leadership Institute is aimed at experienced health professionals who are strongly motivated to develop leadership skills that will aid in the building of a stronger public health workforce and community health system.

Senior and midlevel managers with five years of experience in public health and one year current tenure in a local, district or state public health department are eligible to apply. A small number of positions are also available each year to exceptional candidates from outside the traditional public health settings. Individuals with key roles in community health preparedness such as health care practitioners, local and state policy makers, community health volunteers, business professionals and local first responders are invited to apply.

Every effort will be made to select a cohort of scholars that has broad professional, geographic, ethnic, racial and organizational representation
